Storm Damage in Northeast Illinois

For those who like a variety of storm damage, or at least a variety of storms, Illinois is an ideal place to live. It’s also an ideal to live for those who enjoy pizza, perogies, and other treats, but food isn’t the point (alas). The state is subject to a variety of storm types including:

  • An average of five severe winter storms from November through April, with as many as 18
  • Windstorms, including the not-too-rare derecho, which a straight-line windstorm with or without fastmoving thunderstorms – sometimes the derechos cause hurricane-strength winds, tornadoes, heavy rains, and flash floods
  • Luckily (?), we can get tornadoes, dangerous winds, and flash floods even without derechos!
  • Hailstorms!
  • We get rain as well -- here is one of the best things we ever heard about northern Illinois: “the amount of rainfall in Naperville is significant even during the driest month” in an online weather almanac
  • All this water means we can get flooding indoors

Unfortunately, You Can’t Ignore Water Damage and Hope it Will Go Away

Technically, you can do that, but it won’t do any good. The water damage won’t go away. It will only get worse.

As soon as it is practical, call us at 630-369-9710.

Even if a disaster hits the entire county, don’t hesitate to call; while we are Locally Owned and Operated, we have access to national resources. In cases of large-scale disasters, we can send help to other franchises just as they can send help to us.

Remember:

  • No job is too large
  • No job is too small

Trivia Time: The “It Could Always Be Worse” Edition

Largest diameter hailstone:

On July 23, 2010 in Vivian, SD, a storm produced an 8-inch-diameter hailstone. Its circumference was 18.625 inches and it weighed over 1.9 pounds. The weather service certified it, and there are photos of it and the temporary mini crater it left on the ground.
